Sunil Dutt to undertake peace march to Srinagar

Actor-turned-politician Sunil Dutt on Monday said that he would undertake a peace march to Srinagar from Mumbai starting Tuesday.

"I will not hesitate to talk to the Muslim clergy in Srinagar and even with the militant leaders if it helps bring peace and tranquility to the trouble-torn valley," Dutt said.

During his peace march traversing Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, Dutt said he would like to talk to the militant leaders in the valley.

Recounting his previous Sadbhavana Yatra in Punjab in 1987 Dutt said, "Despite stiff resistance from various quarters I went to the Golden Temple and had talks with the militants and five head priests to comprehend the real cause of the militancy in the state."

"So this time, it is but natural that I will not hesitate talking to the Muslim clergy and militant leaders in the valley to espouse their genuine cause," he added.
