Your Views:There is no need for Mr. Naik to resign. He has followed the system prescribed by Hon'ble Supreme Court. In fact he should be awarded Bharat Ratna for devising a system to short-circuit the system envisaged by the Court. However, wherever the system has got short circuited, the Hon'ble judges, who were appointed chairmen, should be brought before an appropriate authorities to answer the charges of succumbing to pressures, if at all. If we are at all sincere to root out corruption of this nature, it must be made compulsory to advertise teh list before the same is finalised, so that everyone knows it at the initial stage itself who is doing what. The discretionary powers vested with Ministers, for whatsover matter, must be withdrawn, if we want to make the system honest. Why any discretion for items involving commercial considerations? Why allotment of lands/flats to Minister/MPsx/MLAs/Beurocrats be the discretion of some? Whjy not these be advertised and allotted for best price. Afterall, the land belongs to everyone of Indian Citizen. Dishonest allotment robs us all.

Your Views:Why should Mr Ram Naik resign? BJP is bold enought to cancell the allottments though the recommendations have also been made by Congress and CPI(M). I feel the Congress and CPI(M)should be thrown out of politics as they are self oriented and hold the country to ransom so often. Their Mr Jaipal Reddy should resign as it is the same mouth which was critical of the Congress a couple of years back.

Your Views:Corruption is part and parcel of Indian society. A person who is not corrupt does not survive in the world which is full of hypocrite people. The socalled politicians who make the parliament look like we all are shameles people. They have got their own rules. If they are charged with corruption, criminal activities, nepotism etc. they are free to go scot free. When the supreme court framed rules for their conduct and eligibility these so called puritans of all virtues in life became jittery and framed their own rules to be eligible. Why ram naik is alone blamed for all the confusion vis a vis petrol pump scam. we have seen people who were having nothing, not even a good house to live on rent, now owning palatial bungalows, running around in latest cars etc. When people like a village officer or a tahasildar takes rs.100/- bribe the newspapers/media go to town blazing the corruption of them. But when the political masters are corrupt or caught with their pants down, they blackout the news. What happened to Hindu chief N. Ram and Chitra Subramaniam who brought out the Bofors papers, no more exposures. They bask in reflected glory of yesteryears. God save this country

Your Views:there cannot be smoke without fire. The cancellation of the allotments by the PM is indicative of something fishy. Moreover one wrong does not justify another wrong. Even if one agrees that Congress was also involved in the scams when in power. it does not give BJP the license to endulge in similar plunder. What is more astonishing is that while Ram Naik claims credit for all the good things in his ministry, when it come to the present scam, he is pleading ignorant. Now even if he is ignorant, ignorance of a scam right under his nose does not absolve him of the scandal. Had he taken up the blame if nothing else on moral grounds, the BJP could not have lost face.Even now he should own up the responsibility on moral grounds and order a CBI inquiry as demanded by the opposition.

Your Views:How can cancellation of allotments help.Ideal condition would have been to put an independent enquiry, that will go through all the dealings and procedures of allotments. Cancellation of all the allotments made after Jan 2000, smacks of intentions to bury the evidence of scams. What do Govt. want to show by releasing the list of names of Congress people, who made recommendations. What do BJP want to show by demanding an inquiry in all the allotments made since 1983. They want to expose previous Congress Govt. But that is nothing new to people of India. All of know Congress has run the country in most corrupt manner. But its BJP that claims to be the party with difference. Is this the difference? And also when somebody says "you have done wrong", your response is "they had also done wrong in the past". If you are party with difference, you should have faced charges gracefully and with responsibility. You should do every possible thing to undo the unjust corrupt decision, instead of mud-slinging. After all we voted you , because previous Govts were corrupt and you are so called party with the difference. This is the difference.. Mud Slinging?

Your Views:This is all bunkum and petrol pump scams have been happening for so many years during congress,UF and now under BJP goverenance. It is known fact that the allotment goes to the rich influential people. All major businessmen will have petrol pumps/gas agencies in any city and when you probe most of them will be relative of some politician or leader. This itself shows our system has gone to dogs. Mere cancellation is not going to help but all oil companies should adopt a uniform policy of running these services themselves to avoid the unwanted fingers being pointed out at them.

Your Views:When the opportunity came earlier the Congress also did the same thing of alloting to their people. At that time BJP which was in opposition shouted it as loot etc. Now they have gone beyond what Congress did earlier and now the Congress shouts them as loots. What is the difference between them. All political parties loot whenever the opportunity arises. There are standards for all sorts of jobs, exams etc. But there is none for our parlimentarians. The most arguable thing is they want to set the standards for themselves. Then why not students set for themselves, police for themselves etc. And the way the parliament functions, it is ashame. It is simply a waste of taxpayers money.

Its Congress game plan to make dirty government because congress is not in power & want to fool all the indian people by making such unbelievable scam. So congress is the worst party.

Your Views:Its difficult to trust any one in Politics (Govt and Opposition together). I would rather question what happen to 'Bofors Scandal', Dear Sukhram et. al. Are our judicial system incapable to bring justice in larger interest of public. Today public is confused and continued mistrust is more damaging to political system of India. In this situation asking giving any public opinion is hard. Equally dangerous is scarping one decision and making no progress. In view simple rule of thumb let minister and govt. official take the decision and they should be accountable for any financial damage or consequences. We should concentrate in scruitnising the rule of the game, if all awaree belong/sympathiser of one party or the other how does it matter? provided they full-filled the set norms. As a media you should report and scrutnise these facts. RKP

Instead the ministers should use the time for something good. Let the petroleum companies do it, as per certain norms put forward by the parliament or some body who can do justice. What do retired judges appointed by the corrupt politician's know about a petrol pump. Let them use their retired life for soemthing else good and don't feed these retired judges anymore, when so many youths are wandering for a job.

Your Views:NO.. he should not. It is clear that what has happened was not new but merely a legacy, founded by Congress since the time of Pt (maulana) Jawahar Lal Nehru and subsequent congress regimes. What has angered congress & its leaders is that the 100% shares enjoyed by them and there kiths and kin's is now being rightfully shared ( e.g. kargil war widows) by others too. Has one forget the Cap Satish Sharma? Has one forget the allotment of shops on Janpath and Panchkuiya Road footpath. One can see these shops are growing day by day and some are even 20-30 ft deeps and encroached an area of about 1000 sq feet each. Over and above this they have built multi stories over this. IS Ms Shiela Dixit listening? Does she have no role or responsibility in this?

Your Views:Don't know what you are going to do with these views collected from individuals but I thought to make use of this opportunity. For a common man today, it is quite clear that every thing wrong in the society is being backed by the politicians. We have to bear with them with no choice. It is really hard to find a clear politician, practically the whole lot is doing every thing for power. Politics is being dominated by criminals. Some body showing ingnorance about crores of rupees lying in his home... and lot of examples like that. Yes, what has happened in case of recent petrol pump allotment case, the govt. is only responsible. And issues like this are being used by political parties for their gains not for bringing cleanliness in the system. So the question is what we people should do now ...? What is our patience limit...? Let us come together friends and bring some genuine revolution.....

Your Views:Mr Rama Naik need not resign.Mr Vajpayee rightly cancelled allottments. The fact is earlier, Congress had allotted to all its people and has no moral right to take on Mr Naik. What is very bad is corruption has set in everywhere and Mahatma's ideals are thrown away. Money making is the order of the day, be it in Municipal corpns,Panchayats irregularity everywhere, honesty is off.Unles we change election funding method and introduce quick judicial system for speedy punishment of even politicians, situation will not change. That is the need of the hour. Our political leaders should walk the talk and should be willing to sacrifice instead of amassing wealth for their kith & kin. All these scams are a national shame. In Bangalore when Loka Ayukta inspected City Municipal Corporations, in each Corporation money was spent but work was not done - allmost all the money went to politicians thru the their agents in the office - Public are cheated. Money making is rampant and that is how lavish spending takes place in elections-even for Corporators election. When it will change? Otherwise we can not progress and become a developed nation-all of us have to work for this, let us resolve.

Your Views:He should resign from a moral point of view, but going with the overall state of Indian Politics, he should resign only if Vajpayee promises that the next minister would not be corrupt, otherwise does it really matter ?? this is a question, which cannot be answered even by the polling method. Bechari public unfortunately has no right to reject (or do negative voting) for the candidate they think is not capable for ruling them. A dilemma that democracy cannot solve?

Only reimposition of the EMERGENCY under the current President;with setting up of fast track military courts to try political crimes/fraud/bribery/corruption for a period of 5 -10 years will cleanse this country. Most developing countries are unsuitable for democracy; and the evolution of Democracy is something India can ill afford given the pace of justice and competing corruption. It will be a small sacrifice to live under a benevolent Presidential "Dictatorship" with "Emergency Powers" than to be held ransom to this mockery of pseudo-democracy that is getting India nowhere!!!

Your Views:No. the opposition has no moral right to demand anything in this matter. This is not the first time a petro station/gas agency/telephone connections and other things in demand were given to favourable people by various ruling parties. Pls ask the concerned to checkout the allotments as late as mr PVNs tenure. And how the previous govt. handled the case when the row came up last time. they pretended to be auctioning the pumps. but no bidders were allowed in by the appointed goondas. It looks like the present opposition MPs do not want to conduct any business in the house. They come to Delhi for their shopping or other pleasures. Can anybody justify the number of expensive hours lost by opposition walk out and adjournment over paltry issues. A scheme should be brought out to penalise the MPs not attending house sessions in this way. There cannot be a corruption free govt. in India nor anywhere else in the world. this absolutely true. anybody with a different view live in a different world.

So its better to post our own view rather get misguided by so called People's representatives. In democracy, I have the right to say and so I say that resignation of neither Mr. Ram Naik or the government or for that matter whole opposition is going to make any difference. Why to debate over an issue when a prestigious institution like Parliament cannot expose the truth? I want truth. Your Views:The Major issue of political lobying is excavated and brought to surface. Now it is an ideal time to remove the govt control over the allotment and make it a open business for any one and can seek directly the dealership from oil company. Ram Naik is not innocent, and needn't require to resign. every political party has used this for favouring their party workers for supporting them as a token of gratitude. Many at time mafia hands in dealing with petrol bunk owners. Indirectly this is evident from the entire episode that mafia and Politicians has links and interdependables. Do we require such set up? no it is not but we cannot do anything unless we bring this market under competitive market like telecom today. Prices should be fixed by the petrol pump owner and not the government. This makes the mafia unprofitable business to enter into and pump owners provide better service to its customers and politicians needn't involve in the allotment of the dealership and misuse their power for corruption. Like all politicians, he also proves to be one of the rotten egg in the basket.By this time, atleast taking the moral responsibility of what has happened, he should have quit When he still clings to his chair, with absolute support from the PM and the Home minister, it clearly shows he wishes for power alone, and not the welfare of his party or the people in his mind. India no longer needs a democracy lest people like him to flourish. There should be a military rule at least for five years and let the all politicians rot in the wilderness for a while to know and learn what a real independence is.
