BSF soldier kills colleagues in Jammu railway station

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

One Railway Protection Force soldier and a Border Security Force jawan were killed on Saturday in the Jammu railway station when a BSF soldier fired on them following an argument.

Police sources said the BSF soldier 'lost his nerve' and started shooting on his comrades following heated exchange with them.

He was later overpowered and arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, the Station House Officer of Kalakote in Rajouri was killed in a fierce gun battle with militants at village Dhamshall.

The police said the militants opened fire during a search operation killing the SHO, Mohammad Yusuf, on the spot.

The authorities have now rushed army reinforcements to Dhamshall to flush out the militants.
