Indian, Pak troops continue shelling along the LoC

Heavy shelling between the Indian and the Pakistani troops continued along the Line of Control in the Batalik and Drass sectors of Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

According to an army spokesman in Delhi, the Pakistani troops continued to target forward Indian positions since Sunday, he said, adding the Indian troops retaliated effectively.

There were no reports of any loss or damage on the Indian side from the shelling, the spokesman said.

Later reports also indicated low intensity mortar shelling between the Indian and the Pakistani troops in the Jhangar area of Noushera sector, in Rajouri district, last night, without any damage on the Indian side, the spokesman added.

The spokesman also said sporadic small arms firing took place along the Indo-Pak border in Kanachak, Akhnoor and Khour sectors of Jammu district on Sunday.
