PPSC scandal: Second FIR registered against Sidhu

The Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday registered a second FIR in the cash-for-job scam involving Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) chairman Ravinder Pal Singh Sidhu and released the names of 32 people, who allegedly paid bribes to secure government jobs.

Additional Director General of Police (vigilance) A P Pandey said in Chandigarh that the second FIR was registered to enable investigation into the whole gamut of recruitments made through the PPSC during Sidhu's tenure.

He said the FIR was registered at Patiala under various sections of the IPC relating to corruption, conspiracy and cheating. It was registered against Sidhu, his mother Pritipal Kaur, his NRI brother Reetinder Singh, sister-in-law Ajinder Kaur and four alleged touts.

Pandey said more names could be added to the FIR later.
