Woman inmate dies of shock in Ahmedabad relief camp

A woman inmate of the Dariyakhan Ghummat relief camp in Shahibagh area in Ahmedabad died of 'shock' while another person was seriously injured when police lobbed teargas shells on Wednesday evening, camp coordinator Ataullah Khan Pathan said on Thursday.

"Fatima Biwi (70) could not bear the shock and collapsed on the spot on hearing the sound of the shell exploding," Pathan said.

Fatima, a former resident of Naroda Patia area, had earlier lost her house in the violence.

He said one person, named Mohammad, sustained an injury on his head when he fell down after the shell was lobbed.
