Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravinder Singh recorded Jagman's statement in camera and asked him to properly think over his application. Jagman told the court that he was becoming an approver voluntarily and pleaded to be excused.
Jagman was not allowed to interact with reporters after the proceedings in the court. Vigilance Bureau personnel immediately took him to Central Jail, Patiala, as he was remanded to judicial custody till May 2.
Following his arrest on April 18, Rs 1.28 crore [Rs 12.8 million] was recovered from Jagman's house in Chandigarh.
According to sources in the Vigilance Bureau, the trial court could pardon Jagman if he sticks to his stand during the trial, when he would be presented as a witness against Sidhu.
