Punjabi University senate member arrested

A Punjabi University senate member, Paramjit Singh Pamma, was arrested in connection with the alleged bribery case involving Punjab Public Service Commission chairman Ravinder Pal Singh Sidhu, taking the total number of arrests in the case to four, vigilance bureau sources said on Tuesday.

Pamma was arrested from his residence in Chandigarh on the charges of being a tout of Sidhu, who allegedly collected money in exchange of question papers and answer sheets, they said.

The vigilance bureau was on the look out for four others suspects -- Randhir Singh Gill, a Markfed official based in Ludhiana, Prem Sagar, owner of a petrol pump at Moga, Shamshir Singh, a Panchkula based veterinarian and one Pawamjit Singh Gill.
