Three BSF personnel accused of rape

Three Border Security Force personnel were accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, reports said.

At around 1100 IST, the jawans allegedly barged into her house at Kular village on the pretext conducting a search and raped her, the reports said.

A police official said that the girl was taken to hospital for medical check-up. "We are awaiting the medical report to lodge an FIR against the guilty BSF personnel," he said.

The incident sparked off angry protests from the villagers, he said, adding that the situation was tense, but under control.
