Vikas Yadav chargesheeted in Nitish Katara case

Police on Wednesday chargesheeted Vikas Yadav, son of Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav, his cousin Vishal Yadav and a third accomplice in the Nitish Katara abduction-cum-murder case.

The police had filed the charge sheet against the Yadav duo and Sukhdeo alias Pehalwan in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate A K Gupta, Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Raghav said.

The trio was charged for allegedly abducting, conspiring and murdering Nitish Katara, the son of a senior bureaucrat, for his "friendship" with Vikas' sister Bharti.

While Vikas and Vishal are in judicial custody, Sukhdeo is absconding.

Nitish went missing after attending a marriage party in Ghaziabad on February 16 and his mother, Neelam Katara, had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Vikas and Vishal were behind the crime.
