The air crash in which Congress leader Madhavrao Scindia was killed saw the death of four journalists, all at the peak of their careers.
Anju Sharma of the Hindustan Times was a senior correspondent with the daily. She had begun to cover the Congress beat only recently.
The 28-year-old Anju, who had also been reporting on parliamentary proceedings, was described by her colleagues as hardworking and meticulous.
Sanjiv Sinha of the Indian Express, who had been covering the Congress beat for the past three years, took to journalism after a stint as a teacher in Doon School.
Ranjan Jha of Aaj Tak came into TV journalism in 1995, having previously worked with the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran for five years.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Jha had always evinced keen interest in political reporting and had covered three Lok Sabha elections.
Known to his colleagues as 'Gopal dada', cameraman Gopal Bisht (50) had been with Aaj Tak for five years.
