Bomb scare in Delhi high court

Proceedings in the Delhi high court were disrupted on Friday following an anonymous call about a bomb in the court premises, police sources said.

The high court complex was evacuated immediately after the receipt of the call at around 11.55 am and an intense search operation by the police, assisted by the sleuths of Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs, was launched to locate the device, the sources said.

Proceedings in all the 24 courts were abruptly disrupted and the judges retired to their chambers.

The entire high court complex was cordoned off and lawyers and litigants were asked to remain away.

Senior police officials were on the spot supervising the search operation.
