Six girls kidnapped by headmaster rescued

Six girls aged between 9 and 10 were kidnapped by their school headmaster in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, but were rescued shortly before being taken to Nepal, police said.

Muzaffarnagar district police chief Ashutosh Pandey said the students of Shishu Shiksha Niketan were kidnapped by headmaster and manager Ravindra Kumar on Saturday.

Kumar took the girls by a taxi to Bijnor and then travelled in another vehicle to Bareilly, Pandey said and added that his men succeeded in zeroing in on the kidnapper after interrogating the taxi driver who drove him to Bijnor.

Kumar is being brought to Muzaffarnagar for interrogation, he added.
