EC orders repoll in 36 WB booths

The Election Commission on Friday ordered repolling in 36 booths spread over 22 constituencies in nine West Bengal districts, following reports of irregularities and damage to electronic voting machines in Thursday's assembly polls.

The repoll would be held between 7 am and 4 pm on Saturday.

Chief Electoral Officer Sabyasachi Sen said the EC order followed recommendations made by the Election Commission's observers.

Sen said repolling in 14 booths has been ordered in South 24-Parganas.
