EC orders repoll in 302 polling stations
in three states

Of the 302 polling stations, fresh polling would be held in two phases in Assam. Eighty-five polling stations would go to polls on Saturday and the remaining 121 polling stations on Sunday, the sources said.

The Commission has also ordered repolling in as many as 90 polling stations in West Bengal and six in Tamil Nadu.

The repolling has been ordered on the basis of various inputs, including reports from the Returning Officers and the Central poll observers, the sources said.

The repolling would be conducted amidst tight security, the sources said, adding instructions have been issued to the state election authorities to deploy Central paramilitary forces in adequate numbers to ensure foolproof arrangements for the repolling.

The Commission has not received any major complaint warranting repolling in Pondicherry and Kerala, the sources said.
