BJP Nizamabad chief shot dead

Nizamabad district Bharatiya Janata Party president R Surender was shot dead by two persons at Kamareddy town in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday, according to the police.

Surender was attacked near his house by two motorcyclists, when he was about to board his jeep, police said.

The assailants, waiting for Surender to come out of his house, fired indiscriminately at him, the police said, adding that Naxalites may be responsible for the killing.

Senior police officials, including the district superintendent of police from Nizamabad, have rushed to Kamareddy.
