Missing girl among children
rescued in Tandur

Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad

A three-year-old girl, reported missing six months back in Hyderabad, was found in a government-run children's home on Tuesday. She was among the children rescued from John Abraham Memorial Bethany Home in Tandur a few days back.

Sahvi Begum, daughter of Sardar Ali, was reported missing in November last year. A complaint in this connection was lodged with a police station in Hyderabad.

When Sardar Ali and his wife heard of the rescue of children from adoption homes in the state, they visited Sisu Vihar, where most of the rescued children were kept, hoping to find their missing child.

Though they did manage to locate their daughter, they were turned away by the authorities.

On Tuesday, Sahvi's parents went once again to the children's home accompanied this time by Majlis-e-Ittehaadul Muslimeen legislator Syed Sajjad.

As soon as the girl spotted her mother, Khaiser Begum, she rushed and hugged her. However, the Sisu Vihar ayahs separated them and drove away the MLA and media persons gathered at the spot.

Sisu Vihar employees later lodged a police complaint and the MLA was arrested.

The girl was later restored to her parents after completion of requisite formalities. MLA Syed Sajjad was also released from custody.
