Views:I strongly believe it ( what tehelka.com calls as an defence deal and expose...) is a conspiracy hatched against the government to destablise it. Did any deal take place as such? I am sure it is an opposition (party) sponsored, well planned drama, where in tehelka.com got publicity & opposition were successful in their mission.

Views:The allegations against was wrong. When I see the video tape it is known that some parts of the scenes are perfectly morphed in the computer. for eg the hair of jaya jaitley, eyes and spex of laxmen and many other things.

Views:If the cry for NDA Government's resignation had come from the general public, I could understand. But the holier than thou Congress who are crying themselves hoarse on the tehelka.com scoop is ridiculous, especially when they have no shame in allying with the AIADMK whose leader has been convicted in corruption cases. And the so called third front wants the help of Laloo's RJD, when Lallo is himself neck deep in the fodder scam. You cannot find worse hypocrites than these opposition parties. Regarding the tehelka scoop, they have really got the defence officials with their p***s down. However I am very much inclined to believe that the sections regarding the bribes paid to Bangaru Laxman and Jaiya Jetley have been doctored for political gains. I tend to believe that the money was offered as donation to the party. Wonder why the media falls for this hook line and sinker. In all the media coverage that i have seen on TV, I have hardly across any interviews with the man on the street to get his opinion. I am sure all the polticians will get a mouthful. This includes the Congress, Left and other opposition parties who are making hay in the sudden sunshine provided by tehelka.com In fact I won't be surprised if tehelka has been financed by the opposition for their sting operation.

Views:the timing of the expose-apparently filmed in later half of 2000 is odd to say the least. Is there a relation to the ongoing share market scam-an effort to prevent full focus on the scam players? if the system is to be cleaned-then role of the govt in eco affairs should come down. Dis-investment under threat of being derailed be speeded up. ALL persons regardless of whether they are salaried or business or mp/mla or fulltime party workers or companies/trusts/charities/political parties must be placed on a required to pay income tax and file I.T. returns.afterall they all must be earning/recieving money in order to be able to spend as freely as they seem to do. if the level of mandatory disclosure goes up-level of scrutiny will increase and perhaps result in more cautious behavior.

Views:I admired Geoge Fernandez for his courageous stand against Indira Gandhi's emergency and party wallahs. He did the country a great service in defending the Indian people's liberties. But the fracas with the former Navy Chief was uncalled for and in bad taste. He should have been made to quit along with the former Chief. As far as the latest episode is concerned I am not surpised by the extent of the rot that has set in. I look forward to more exposes by Tehelka on other venal politicians.

Yeah ..how can we forget the iconoclastic morons from Tamil Nadu who are no better...wonder which lineage I can claim to come from ! How can we not forget the holier than thou Mr. Seshan..the Don Quixote..of the Babudom..having rented out premises at the desh bhakta society run by the ubiqutuous Ramesh Sharma ! Geee...99 out of 100 BEIMAN PHIR BHI MERA BHARAT MAHAN... JAI HIND...EVEN I AM JOINING POLITICS.......WHY WORK WHEN YOU CAN EAT AND BECOME A FAT CAT !

Views:it is apparent that there is widespread bungling going on in the defence deals which is ofcourse a great concern for the country as a whole. The unfolding of this mystrey has led to a situation of embarrasment for the Vajpayee Government. It is indeed shameful, but it has really put question mark once again on the functionality of the system as a whole. Nation as a whole is feeling anguished & as a common man I feel that this "HALLA GULLA" is going to last until the dust settles, after that it is going to be that easy for all these. We really need to introspect it now or face the consequences later. I do hope that there will be end to this.

Views:in this dirty world of politics one thing is common cutting across party lines, across regions and even across countries and that is none other then corruption but some are less corrupt then others and this is the case with nda government ,there is no doubt something fishy in defence deals but the govt. as a whole is cleanest India has ever seen.

Views:Our politics and politician has come to such an stage where you can blame just anything against Govt. One prediction: Now again the Babri Masjid and Ram Janamabhoomi issue will reappear. The marbles and construction material is provided to both the party by the same person. and it is same project.

Views:There is much more to say about oppertunism and irresponsibility of the political parties apart from corruption. I see no reason to believe every thing Tehelka says.. It's ridiculus that one can try for a defence deal with a few lacs... What tehelka exposed is the fact that various political parties lack principles.. and greed of the beaurocrats and middle men. If you go through the transcripts of laxman ,jaitley it is clear that they did not promise any thing that compromises the national interest. What they showed us is their lack of personal integrity . and they paid for that. Now what remains is..we need to check the veracity of the tapes and take a qiuck and definite action about the allegation..bring out the truth.. Every body knows that defence deals are fishy..but how far it is reasonable to demand the current governament to pay the entire rise for some thing no body knows what happened..???? Let us not act like politicians..let us demand an immediate and impartial probe.. The faster the truth comes out the lesser will be the damage to the country's defence and other establishments. let us not ridicule the system built by us for all these years...Try to fix the bugs in it.. LET US BEHAVE AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS NOT AS OPPORTUNE POLITICIANS. GRAB THIS OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND MAKE THE SYSTEM MORE DEPENDABLE and RELIABLE.

Views:It is sad that BJP is going to be punished by this episode. If only the PM (may very well be the only non-corrupt) takes it upon himself to clean up the syetem and give death penalty to the guilty and without loosing time in the court corridors. This is going to be demoralizing to those serving the country who are putting their lives at risk to serve the nation.

Views:What do Tehelka thinks of India, a play toy. Floating a fictious company, flogging non existant thermal imaging binoculars, playing bribary game with army officials and Ministers (Mr.George Fernandes & Mr.L.K.Advani) and bring that to public as a hot news (like putting an atom bomb) on internet, website visited by people all over internationally (breaking record!-for maximum hits). A trick to fool peoples when election is round the corner in four states. Find the real motive of Tehelka and the people behind them, in this game.

If tehelka is so much interested with country's interest, they could have submitted these tapes to supreme court with in-camera hearing. They just want publicity at the cost of the national security. Not Only our Countries Name Has Been Tarnished But It will Demean The Morals Of Our Soldiers Who Are Fighting At The Border For Us, If They Come To Know That At Their Life is at Risk. These Ministers Are Making Money For Themselves. Now We Should Take Tehelka's Tapes On Cricket Seriously, Even Though Those who Were There In The Tapes Denied whole Thing, CBI Should Now Once again Start Investigation.

If not, then why do we have two yard sticks? Thanks Subramanian

Views:It is disgusting. After the second exposure by Tahalka.com relating to defence deal scandal, frankly speaking, you like it or not I was unable to join the crowd in their celeberation on the victory of our Indian players. I could feel the something within me smiling at me saracastically and telling me ' are your sure you won on merits ', inspite the gallant efforts of our youngsters at Eden Garden. Nowdays I am perforce to suspect each and every victory or loss. Faith is loosing gound. But then again I must arrest the downsliding faith. Faith in the system. Faith on our ability to win. Faith on our ability to expose more and more of such scandals. Faith on someone who can lift us above these mean considerations. Faith on our ability to locate someone who can do so. The entire humanity survives on mere faith. Small urchins as those exposed can't bring the humanity down. We have to have a positive mental makeup to continue to exist.
