NDA to meet over crisis, Laxman to attend: PTI

An emergency meeting of the National Democratic Alliance has been convened at the Prime Minister's residence on Wednesday evening, in the wake of the expose on defence deals by tehelka.com.

Bangaru Laxman, who offered to resign on Tuesday night as the BJP president after video clips showed him accepting money, has been invited to the meeting, NDA sources said.

Soon after adjournment of the Lok Sabha following pandemonium over the issue, Vajpayee held informal consultations with senior cabinet colleagues, including L K Advani, George Fernandes and Pramod Mahajan, apparently to chalk out the government's strategy.
