India and Bangladesh on Tuesday finalized the terms of reference for the demarcation of their border.
According to a top official of the Union home ministry, "A formal agreement will be signed tomorrow [Wednesday]."
Under the terms of reference both sides have decided to conduct a joint survey for demarcating the border after which pillars will be put up.
The official said, "Today's talks also discussed enclaves and land held adversely by each other."
He said the contentious 13km strip in Assam in the Kareemgunj sector (Dumabari) also figured in the talks.
Meera Shankar, joint secretary in the external affairs ministry, led the Indian delegation. The Bangladeshis were led by joint secretary Janibul Huq.
