TN ministers dropped, cabinet reshuffled

Within a month of being sworn-in as chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha on Saturday reshuffled her team, replacing three ministers and changing the portfolios of some others.

The dropped ministers are: Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister Ayyaru Vandayar, Industries Minister Pollachi V Jayaraman and Food Minister R Viswanathan, a Raj Bhavan release said.

The new ministers to be inducted are: R Jeevanantham (Nagapattinam), C Shanmugavelu (Udumalpet) and R Vaithilingam (Orathanadu). All three of them are first-time MLAs.

This is the second time within a month that Jayalalitha has reshuffled her team.
