Naga ceasefire agreement needs
to be amended: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary in charge of the Northeast and Sikkim P B Acharya on Thursday said an amendment to the ceasefire agreement between the Centre and National Socialist Council of Nagalim (I-M) was necessary to end the 'communication gap', which had led to large-scale violence in Manipur.

"I have gone through the ceasefire agreement. It needs to be amended to say clearly that the geographical integrity of any state will not be interfered with," he told reporters in Gangtok.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Union Home Minister L K Advani were now dealing with the situation and a solution would emerge 'very soon', he added.
