Cabinet meet on TN postponed

Tara Shankar Sahay in New Delhi

The Cabinet meet to discuss the developments in Tamil Nadu, which was to be held on Monday evening at 1830 hours (IST), was postponed till Tuesday and instead, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coordination committee would be meeting at 1800 hours (IST).

Apparently, the postponement was to enable Union Home Minister L K Advani, who will be returning from his three nation tour on Tuesday, to attend the crucial cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, constituents of the ruling NDA would decide the constitutional course to adopt in Tamil Nadu in the meeting of its coordination committee on Monday evening.

Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and all senior cabinet ministers are expected to attend the NDA meeting.
