Condolence Message:The earthquake has devastated many lives. My prayer goes out to the ones now rest in peace, and those who have survived. The fortunate ones must rise to the occasion, pick up the pieces and start afresh. This is only way, the deep wounds of this calamity can be healed to some extent.

Though i cannot do much (despite being a doctor) as i am in USA, i am collecting a fund of around $5000 for helping my countrymen, which i will be donating to the American red Cross Society, soon. Condolence Message:It's really a sad part for us out here in US too.We here have seen the sufferings of the people on and through INTERNET. we at Wayne State University,Detroit are doing our best to send some monetry aid for the people who have simply been devastated by all that happenned but u know what Man's deeds are accounted in God's books and tally made on the days of his judgement. The amount on our debit side should never exceed our credits. If so, God weilds his powers to tally the debits with the credits. This is only a sign of things to come. There is no word to express my sorrow. But there is no point in just sympathising. We Indians at this point should support our Gujrati bretheren with both moral and monetary support as our culture preaches. This is the time for us Indians to contribute and show the world that we stand united Do help those in whichever way u can .if u can't send them food or money Do Pray for those who have sufferred and Pray to GOD that such a thing never happens to even our enemies......... With Tears in Eyes, Sympathy in heart and Prayer in mind ..... let us Pray that this doesn't happen ever . ever. again........

Condolence Message:I feel grief at the happening in gujarat. There will be a lot of money pouring for this cause but i worry that there will be lot of guys trying to making a buck or two even of this kind of money. I feel we in india seldom have respect for life and dead with incidents happening where dead have been looted(train accident, cyclone victims etc). It is pitiable we talk ourselves of as a great culture but this kind of incidents do still happen. Dont you think it is all because of overpopulation?(including such a high number of death, callousness for life, lack of facilities etc) Further we will debate offer condolences till the next incident happens and another week this will be history

Condolence Message:Words fail me to say how deep a wound this tragic event has been. What irony it is that the worst ever catastrophe occured to Mother India, conincided with the nation's republic day. My heart felt sympathy for the countless number of fellow Indians who have deceased this way. They say that every good thing should have an end. But, it is really terrible that God has chosen such a way to end so many good and beautiful lives. May God bless my land and my fellow countrymen. VANDEMATARAM! JAI HIND!

Condolence Message:let me first declare that this quake is a supreme calamity, one understood by humanity very few times in history... but in every situation there is a bright side, atleast the oppurtunity for one. i have come across a new perception, and new sense of hope... let me present you with a situation (i don't mean to sound idealistic or trite)... what if this quake is the point of change? we have always known that the folly of india, the plague, if you will, is the laziness and complacent nature of the people, but calamity is a catalyst for change. may i offer you a few examples... before WW2, Japan was a forum for the simple and stagnant, but there utter destruction (mental and physical) brought them to be the most progressive... the great depression, in relation to the USA, is also an example of this phenomena... What if this is India's time? Since the quake, all i have noticed is a call for unity and hard work from everyone of power and not... The important question is "will our nature of complacency cloud our eyes to see that the time is ours?" i pray to God that this be not... cheers and jai hind

Condolence Message:Even thousands of miles away from our beloved India and Gujrat, we Indians can feel the tremor that struck on such an auspicious day. The toughest thing to witness is the death of your near and dear ones but a single natural calamity taking away so many of your brothers & sisters is a pain for life and the memories will keep haunting us throughout our lives. We wish that God gave strength to all our friends in Gujrat to cope up with the situation and peace to the souls of all the victims. We wish, if there is anyone who is still alive below the deberies gets found out and recovered before one more soul gets disappeared. Gujrat is one of the most progressing states and we pledge our all out support to bring back the glory of Gujrat & Gujrati. I think it is time for our friends in Government Civic Departments and Builders to wake up their souls and stop making huge profits at the cost of innocent human lives – I think the nation needs to take stock of the situation and do some soul searching. We will never be able to control the nature but we can always prepare ourselves and minimise loses in such a situation. It is hard to imagine huge apartment blocks coming down like clay castles. The world is watching and we got to build a nation in the 21st Century that is strong, progressing, self sufficient, independent and has strong values. Everyone living in India needs to be proud of India as we are living outside India. We salute all those volunteers who risked their lives to save even one soul.

Condolence Message:An unchallenged calamity! Earthquakes are not predictable but what we can predict is the aftermath. At such a time when the people in Gujrat, especially Bhuj, are facing probably the worst phase of their life.... we should all pray for return of calm and peace in the state. Let us all join hands and contribute as much in our capacity for the very needful. This I pray to GOD..... Oh GOD, provide calm to the suffering and relief to the victim. That is lost cannot be regained but that is left can be preserved. Give them the strength to fight this ugly hour and let them know and believe that the whole nation is with them. You do your best and give us the strength to do our best for all who require it. Amen.

Condolence Message:I read news about recent earthquake in india. It is very disturbing news, but along with that i am more disturbed with news of mis management by government employees. Do you guys still think that all these help pouring in from international community and within india will reach the real needy person. I am surprised that after more than 50 years of independence it is such a disasterous situation. I know that all news paper will publish the horrifying news of deaths and different help reaching india. But I am really concerned with who is going to take responsibility of proper distribution of relief materials and money or rehabilitiaton of these people. I am so sorry to say that after few months news papers will make story of corruption and try to sell their papers. But not a bold or precautioinary step to avoid these type of things from happening. So I request all news and media people to come out of your own self concentrating tendancy and try to help people really. Try to give indepth coverage of relief work and forget what that stupid Frenandes or Vajpayee says. They are just going to sit in air conditioned rooms and give press statements. Tell them to do fasting for week then they will reliaze how this affects a common person. I know that this message is not going to be published, that's why i am using such harsh language. Because we are hipocratic indias. Jai Hind
