Kutch continues to record aftershocks

There was little respite for the people in the quake-ravaged Kutch region in Gujarat, which experienced six more aftershocks since Tuesday evening, the Indian Meteorology Department said in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The aftershocks ranging between 3.0 and 3.6 on the Richter Scale were felt in the area since 1701 hours (IST) on Tuesday, taking to 314 the total number of aftershocks measuring more than 3 on the Richter Scale since the January 26 earthquake.

The latest tremor with a magnitude of 3.3 was recorded at 0926 hours on Wednesday.
