FIR lodged against 4 officials of Dhanbad mine

The police have lodged a First Information Report against four Bharat Coking Coal Ltd officials, including a general manager, in connection with the tragedy in Bagdihi mine where 38 miners had been trapped since February 2.

The case against the four -- BCCL's Lodna area general manager, Bagdihi colliery agent, area safety officer and mine manager -- was filed under Sections 304, 34, 72C of the Mines Act, Dhanbad Superintendent of Police Abdul Ghani Mir told PTI Wednesday.

A copy of the FIR was not made immediately available.
