US Expands Aid to $ 9 Million

The United States has expanded its quake relief package for India by another $ 4 million, bringing its total aid to $ 9 million.

The US Agency for International Development is channelling the aid through several NGOs. Aid worth $ 5 million, which includes clothes, food, water and medicines, has already arrived in Bhuj in Gujarat.

The agency has said it will send more aid to help the reconstruction work in Gujarat.
