Nations pitch in with relief

Following is the list of the countries which have sent teams and other assistance for earthquake relief:

Britain: A team of 69 specialists with four search dogs, relief material, 2000 litre water bottles and 500 litres unleaded fuel. It has also raised the amount of funds from three million to ten million pounds for earthquake relief.

Switzerland: A team of 45 people with sniffer dogs.

Japan: About 2.5 lakh US dollars in kind and 7.5 lakh US dollars for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

Germany: A team of 20 specialists with relief material.

Russia: A professional rescue team of 73 personnel with assistance equipment.

Turkey:A team of 35 people, ten metric tonnes of rescue equipment and one metric tonne of medicines.

France:A 40-member medical team with 10.5 MT medical equipment and a rescue team of nine personnel with sniffer dogs.

Hungary: A team of 15 personnel with three sniffer dogs and seven metric tonnes of equipment.

Oman: An IL-76 aircraft carrying 40 metric tonnes of relief material

Kuwait: A six-member team carrying oil, food items, blankets, tents etc.

Malaysia: A 20-member rescue team with relief equipment.

Israel: has set up a 60-bed hospital at Bhuj.

Pakistan: Relief material consisting of blankets etc.

USAID: About 80 tonnes of relief material consisting of water purification units, tents etc.

Besides this, mobile hospitals from eight countries are also operating in the quake-affected areas.
