OIC urges India and Pakistan to show restraint

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference on Friday urged India and Pakistan to show restraint and resume dialogue to solve their differences.

In a statement, OIC Secretary General Abdelwahed Belkeziz voiced concern over the tension between New Delhi and Islamabad.

Belkeziz "appealed to both parties to demonstrate restraint and to resort to wisdom and engage in a diplomatic dispassionate dialogue to find a peaceful resolution", the statement said

"Resorting to the use of force will never resolve the problems, but would rather aggravate hostility ... and lead to human, economic and social tragedies of colossal dimension," it added.
