Authorities in New Delhi seized cocaine worth Rs 40 million in the international market from a group of Nigerians.
The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested four Nigerians and recovered 396 grams of cocaine, described as "rare and high quality". One of the Nigerians, Kenede, had stored the drug in 27 capsules and injected them into his rectum.
An official said the drug came from Colombia.
The weekend arrests were made from a hotel in the commercial hub of Karol Bagh. The contraband was recovered from Kenede. The other three were identified as Ibe, an exporter based in Delhi, Christopher, a law student, and Goddy.
"The cocaine had traveled from Colombia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Bombay. The supplier has been identified as an Islamabad-based Nigerian, Anene," the official said.
Earlier this year, NCB officials seized five kg of cocaine from a group of Nigerians in Delhi and Chandigarh. In May the officials found two kg of high-grade cocaine from another Nigerian.
