Views:Its 3 days and the NDA government cant throw out a bunch of crooks from Bangladesh!! what gutless diplomacy is this when they just walk in, take over a village and happily butcher 16 of our men and capture 2 injured ( they even shift them to dacca) and the (s)tinktank of Brajesh Misra and his cronies at PMO keep silent!! Pak did a kargil and now bangla does at assam and soon srilanka or maldives can hold our country to ransom too!! or worse the chinese will come to conquer and take away the disputed north east India in a stroke!!

Still we are talking of diplomatic dialogue. Tit for tat should be used rather than going for diplomatic dialogue. If Banglades Prime Minister has any problem at her home front she cannot intude into others property. Government should give have given immediate reply rather than having a closed door discussion.

Views:Take a Look at China. One Fighter Pilot Dies and no less than the President of USA had to be Sorry for the Pilots family and to the Nation China. Thats the way to respect One's Citizens. We on the other hand have never stood for Individuals dignity any time... we are better off inserting more theory into our constitution viz "we are Secular..Sovereign.." etc. Is it not simple enough to say we Stand for the Dignity of our Citizens. May be we are not yet out of Colonial Hangover. And when we are not we donot rise to restore dignity of the 16 soldiers who died rubbing it off as a SKIRMISH. We should have acted in a more aggressive manner. Look at Israel... Learn a few lessons. When Souvereignity is at stake you dont bother what the World thinks. Bangladesh should be taught such a lesson that none should even Dream of Playing traunt with us. Such a thought should send shivers up the spine of the men who dare to think. Crsuh the intrusion brutally. 16 should get atleast 1600 on other side. Is someone listeneing!..

Views:A kargil by pakistan, a manipur by bangla and the NDA government and its advisors waste 3 days to even react!! we should have thrown out the intruders the same day and thereby saved 16 precious soldiers and villagers then. what would have Hasina or her party then done? If she cant control her army, she has no right to be in power as well. Its a shame on vajpayee that he still holds on to power, even after such humiliation.

Email:prasenjit_saha@hotmail.com
Views:India should stop proving itself a SOFT nation and prove otherwise for once. It should take drastic steps to show that we are not to be messed around with. It is not a diplomatic movement from Bangladesh. So there is no need of diplomatic activity from India as well. Better retaliate in a fashion (may be using airforce as well) that will be in there memory for sometime. Bangladesh should be made to pay a very very heavy price for this. This is of course if there had been no under the table understanding Indian and Bangla govt.

Views:The fantastic adventure of Bangladesh shows that India is perceived as a weak nation with a very weak leadership. If a country like Bangladesh can do this to us just imagining what Pakistan & China have in store for us makes one shiver. Kargil & this episode have clearly demonstrated that our intelligence agencies, defence setup and political leadership is inept and dangerous for all of us. This government has lost authority to rule. We were certainly better of with a governments of the past which never claimed to be tigers (national pride, nuclear policy et al) but were able to avoid such nasty incidents. Jai Hind

If a country like Israel was faced with such a situation, they would have not only thrown out the Bangladeshi troops but would have themselves occupied half of Bangladesh. I feel that we should do something that will send out a strong signal to all our puny neighbours that India is a big brother who is not to be trifled with.

Views:The action by Bangladesh Rifles seems to be a very well planned and orchestrated move and it needs to be taken very seriously. 16 of our Jawans were killed without any provocation. If this had happened to US or China they would have had Bangladesh torn to pieces by now. Our government has become so immune to loss of Indian soldiers that all they could do was to call the Bangladeshi ambassdor. Best solution is to give the matter to Indian Army and allow them to Run down some the villages in Bangladesh and make sure that they learn the lesson and never do such misadventures again.
