MDMK spokesman joins DMK

Radhakrishnan, who came to the DMK headquarters in Madras, joined the party in the presence of DMK chief and NDA head in Tamil Nadu, M Karunanidhi.

Radhakrishnan told reporters that he had left the MDMK since Vaiko had decided that his party would contest the polls independently to defeat NDA candidates.

On the reasons for quitting the MDMK, he said he was one of the many leaders who had protested against the MDMK breaking its alliance with the DMK.

"I chose to leave MDMK and join the DMK only after a great deal of thought," he said.

Radhakrishnan said he had not joined the DMK to contest the May 10 assembly polls but would campaign for the victory of the DMK-led alliance.
