The Bharat Aluminum Company (BALCO) has decided not to give wages to its workers who have struck work for nearly a month now.
However, the employees who registered their presence during the strike would be given salaries on Tuesday.
The BALCO Bachhao Sanyutka Abhiyan Samiti, meanwhile, has communicated to the Union mine minister its willingness for tripartite talks.
Nearly 7,000 workers and employees of BALCO have been on a strike since March 3 to protest against the privatisation of the company.
Union leaders have criticised the management's decision to stop wages. They have also threatened those who attended work during the strike with dire consequences if they went to draw their salaries.
