Rajan still in Bangkok: Bhujbal

E-Mail this report to a friend

Swati Kulkarni in Bombay

Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Monday said that dreaded underworld gangster Chhota Rajan was still holed-up in Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Speaking to newspersons at Mantralaya, Bhujbal stated the information with the Bombay police is that the injured gangster is very much present in Bangkok and that the news of his being taken away to Malaysia is baseless.

Bhujbal stated that the Bombay police has been in constant touch with the Union home ministry, Intelligence Bureau and Interpol. The Interpol has issued a Red Corner warrant for the arrest of Chhota Rajan.

He denied reports about a possible spurt in gang wars and added that the city police has taken tough measures to curb encounters. He added that the police have been instructed to take touch action against ganglords irrespective of their caste or religion.
