Mild earthquake in Bombay, Maharashtra

Our Correspondent in Bombay

An earthquake of moderate intensity was felt in parts of Maharashtra and Bombay region, at 6.03 IST on Tuesday.

The quake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale.

The epicentre was located in the Koyna-Warna region in Western Maharashtra, which is prone to quakes, apparently owing to the presence of the Koyna Dam.

No loss to life or property was reported.

Earlier, on March 12, a similar quake was recorded in the same region.
