3 BJP ministers resign in Goa

The nearly one-year-old Goa Peoples Congress-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government in Goa, headed by Chief Minister Francisco Sardinha, Saturday plunged into a crisis with three BJP ministers deciding to quit the cabinet.

''We have handed over our resignation letters to our party leader,'' state Education Minister Prakash Padte and Health Minister Dr Suresh Amonkar told UNI over telephone.

''Now it is up to our legislature party leader to take a decision on them,'' Phadte said and refused to elaborate on the circumstances that led to their resignation.
