Advani calls on Vajpayee

Union Home Minister L K Advani Thursday called on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Bombay's Breach Candy hospital, where he is recuperating after a knee replacement surgery.

Advani's meeting with the prime minister lasted nearly 30 minutes, according to city Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who is also the party's camp in-charge at the hospital.

Details of the meeting are not known.

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is also likely to call on the prime minister later in the evening, according to sources.
