Rajan assailant arrested in Lucknow: UNI

In a major breakthrough, the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh has arrested a Pakistani national, Noor Baksh, who was involved in the attack on mafia don Chhota Rajan in Bangkok on September 14.

Baksh, an active member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, was arrested near the passport office in the state capital Thursday evening, UP Director General of Police Mahesh Chandra Dwivedi told newsmen on Saturday.

A resident of Baluchistan in Pakistan, Noor Baksh had been imprisoned twice in Dubai for keeping a fake passport.

The DGP said he had admitted being present at the shoot-out at the residence of Rohit Verma in Bangkok. He said he was asked to keep vigil outside the house, while others shooters went in to kill Rajan, the DGP added.
