Sakshi Maharaj denied bail in rape case

Samajwadi Party member of the Rajya Sabha Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi was on Thursday denied bail by a court in Etah in a case of rape and sexual exploitation.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Rakesh Kumar refused bail in a case filed on the directive of the court.

Meanwhile, in another case, special judge (dacoity-affected area) has fixed October 11 next for a hearing on granting bail to Sakshi Maharaj.

It may be recalled that Sakshi's two disciples Durga Bharati and Savitri had filed five cases of rape, sexual abuse and dacoity against him. He was granted bail in two cases on Wednesday.
