Putin plans for visit to Pak denied

Rusian President Vladimir Putin has not planned a visit to Pakistan, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said in Moscow.

Before leaving for New Delhi on Monday, Ivanov stated that the president will not visit Pakistan and he had no intention to undertake any such visit.

The foreign minister is accompanying Putin on a four-day visit.

Reports about Putin's visit to Pakistan first appeared when Russian official Sergei Yasdrazsembsky went to Islamabad to express Russia's concerns over the Taliban's activities.

He had gone to request the military rulers in Pakistan to prevent the Taliban from perpetuating international terorrism.
