BCCI summons 5 players for final hearing

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has served notices on five players named in the Central Bureau of Investigation report on betting and match-fixing to appear before its Disciplinary Committee in Calcutta on November 28.

The five cricketers - Mohammed Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja, Ajay Sharma, Manoj Prabhakar and Nayan Mongia - have been warned that failure to appear before the committee on the stipulated date and time would invite action ex-parte.

The players have also been told that no other person, including a lawyer, would be allowed to accompany them when they appear before the three-member Disciplinary Committee comprising BCCI president A C Muthiah and two vice-presidents -- Ram Prasad and C K Khanna.

The board would send a copy of the Madhavan report to each of the five players by Sunday.
