Bihar minister's son held: PTI

An engineer from the newly created Chhattisgarh state was rescued following the arrest of the son of Bihar Minister for Labour and Employment Chandrashekhar Dubey, police said in Daltonganj on Monday.

Two others involved in the kidnapping were also arrested and the vehicle used by them was recovered during a joint raid conducted by the Palamu and Garwah police on Sunday.

Devendra Prakash Swarnkar, the engineer from Northern Coalfields, was kidnapped in October from Vindhya town in Chhattisgarh, the police said.

The police arrested Ajay Dubey, son of the Bihar minister on November 1 and based on his statement conducted a raid in Garwah in south Bihar and freed the engineer, the police said.

Two other kidnappers -- P Tiwari and Narednra Pandey -- were held and the vehicle used by them was recovered from Lalgarh in Palamu district, the police added.
