Bihar chief secy to head Jharkhand administration

Soroor Ahmed in Patna

Chief Secretary of Bihar Vijay Shankar Dubey is likely to head the administration in Jharkhand.

Additional Director General of Police, Muzaffarpur zone, Shivaji Mahan Kaire, will take charge as the first director general of police in the new state.

Both officers are likely to move to Ranchi in a couple of days.

However, what is causing concern in both the states is the delay in the distribution of cadre of the all-India services such as Indian Administrative Services, the Indian Police Services and the Indian Forest Services. The delay is likely to cause administrative problems both in Jharkhand and Bihar.

With Dubey now moving to Jharkhand, the Bihar government will have to find a replacement for him. However, since Dubey doubled up as the chairman of the Bihar State Electricity Board too, the state government will have to make two fresh appointments.
