Independent MLA rules out
support to Soren

Independent legislator from Bokaro Samresh Singh on Thursday ruled out his support to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren in his effort to form the government in Jharkhand saying that by aligning with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Soren had proved that the JMM was an anti-Jharkhand party.

"By turning to RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav over the chief ministership issue, Soren had shown that he was power-hungry and had no sense of commitment to the people in the region," Singh told newspersons in Ranchi.

"Under no circumstances can we stand by the anti-statehood forces," he added.

Without clearly stating that he will go with the NDA, Singh said he will give his support 'to that government in Jharkhand which rules the new state in accordance with the blueprint of its development' prepared by his newly floated outfit Jharkhand Vananchal Congress.

He said the development strategy prepared by the JVC will be submitted to the first chief minister of Jharkhand by a nine-member committee headed by Kahsinath Shahdeo.

Stating that he was looking for rapid economic growth of the region, an alert administration and speedy justice, Singh stressed he will give his active support to a government which can ensure all this in the new state.
