Murdoch meets Narayanamurthy and Premji

Media baron Rupert Murdoch on Sunday met leaders of information technology industry, including Wipro chief Azim Premji and Infosys chairman N R Narayanamurthy, as part of his IT-focused visit to the city.

A spokesman for Murdoch said that the media baron had his breakfast at Infosys and he spent an hour at the company headquarters.

While he did not discuss any business propositions, Infosys gave a brief presentation to him on the company's activities, the spokesman said.

Murdoch, who flew into the city in his private jet on Saturday, also met Premji, one of the richest men in the world. It was described as a courtesy call.

The spokesman said Murdoch was busy throughout the day attending meetings. He also visited Planetasia offices along with Pradeep Kar of Microland.

Murdoch is scheduled to meet Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna before leaving for Mumbai tomorrow.
