More trouble for Macchindra Chate

E-Mail this report to a friend

Swati Kulkarni in Mumbai

There is more trouble brewing for Macchindra Chate, the controversial proprietor of Chate Classes.

Just a day after a SSC topper came forward to reveal that Chate had falsely claimed her as a student of his classes, a HSC topper today alleged the professor had tried the same trick on her.

Professor Satish Kori from Kolhapur in a press statement issued on June 6 has alleged that Chate had tried to buy out the success of his daughter Sharadha Kori, who had topped the Kolhapur HSC Board (Science) in 1998.

Prof. Kori has disclosed that after the results were announced, two teachers from Chate classes - Professor's Hilage and Professor Deshmukh - came to their house and asked Sharadha to sign a statement attributing her success to Chate's notes.

Prof Kori said he refused to be a party to the deal and told the two professors that Chate notes were full of mistakes. He said his daughter would have failed had she depended upon such shoddily produced notes.

Kori adds in his statement that at that point of time there was no branch of Chate classes in Kolhapur, but one was supposed to start later that year.
