'Pakistan knows how fragile Indian society is and is exploiting it to the maximum'

Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000, 19:23:40EST -0700
Subject: Mission Destabilise

It took 10 years for India Today to reveal what was known to swayamsevaks about what is going on in Kashmir. It takes as much time for someone to step up and report the nature of Islamic terrorism from Pakistan and its nexus with Indian Muslims. Why does it take so long for such major subversive activities to come into print?

Thank you for carrying the story. Better late than never.

It seems to be no coincidence that since 1992 the ISI is having increasing success in its mission. The real cost of the demolition of the Babri Masjid needs to be computed

Why don't you carry an article on how RAW is setting up its bases in Pakistan? In Urdu, there is a famous saying, 'Taali dono hatho se bajti hai:' It requires two hands to clap.

The article was very well researched and was an incisive expose of the nefarious activities of the ISI in collusion with our own people. How do we tackle this menace which is so widespread ? Add to this the Chinese hand in trying to weaken India by perennially instigating the Pakistanis against Indians. There is strong evidence to support the Pakistani hand in the recent bombings in churches and the attacks against Christians in general. Pakistanis know how fragile and weak Indian society is and is exploiting it to the maximum. They are alarmed at the prospect of USA and India coming closer and one way to break this relationship is to portray Hindus as being extremists and India as a nation where minorities are not safe. They might even succeed in their mission thanks to some of our stupid leaders. Thank god that at least the press is free in India and people like you expose the cancer that is eating away at the fabric of a united and prosperous India.

Keep up the good work.

This report is entirely biased. Considering George Iype's background, this is not surprising. The whole piece is centred around the theory that the BJP's growing presence in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka is the main reason for fundamentalist Muslims approaching the ISI. Otherwise, Muslims in South India were never interested in fundamentalist activities.

George Iype's article blames the BJP for the spread of Islamic terrorism in the South. But he should remember that the BJP was not on the political scene in the South five years ago and the ISI was still present everywhere in India. Indian Muslims, most of who are illiterate and poor, have always been a steady fodder to Pakistani designs against the Indian establishment. Does George Iype think that the ISI was set up to resist BJP's growth? The ISI was established much earlier by Pakistan to silently bleed India both inside and outside without posing the necessity to wage a war against India.

Millions of Indians started supporting the BJP after getting sick of five decades of minority appeasement practiced by successive governments. To say that the BJP's growth is responsible for Islamic terrorism is a poor attempt at blaming the BJP for a variety of evils and also a poor attempt to doctor facts. If anybody has to be blamed it is the Congress governments and the Muslims in India.

Why don't you host a discussion page for people to post their views on such sinister designs that challenge the integrity of our nation?
