Union Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav has rushed to Patna from Delhi, it is learnt.

Before leaving the capital, the minister chaired an emergency meeting of senior civil aviation officials to take stock of the situation arising from the crash of the Alliance Air flight near Patna this morning.

Our correspondent reported from Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in New Delhi, which houses the civil aviation ministry, at 11 am that no civil aviation officials were available to give out any details about the crash.
