IT does not suit our country: Laloo

E-Mail this report to a friend

Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav is against Information Technology, which he says 'does not suit our country'.

Although his son-in-law is an IT professional, Yadav told Zee News in an interview, "What is IT? I am against it. This does not suit our country. This is not America. This country does not lack people. We have one billion people - what good is science and technology if it renders skilled people useless?"

"IT encourages unemployment. What is in a computer? IT kya hota hai? Hum iskey virodhi hain (what is IT? we are opposed to it)," he said.

On the lack of infrastructure in Bihar, he lashed out against critics saying they were beyond reasoning and he was not worried by their criticism. "Such critics are beyond redemption and I am not bothered about them," he said.

Yadav also held forth on the movement against corruption, unemployment and dynastic rule started by Jaya Prakash Narayan. "This movement was started by the youth and students and we handed over the leadership to JP," he said.
