Conversion.

That appears to be the bone of contention between the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Church in India.

The VHP accuses the minority community of this "unhealthy" practice. Also, of trying to "malign" its name by blaming it for the attacks on missionaries and churches.

The Christians, for their part, feel they are being targeted for political gains, as a means to consolidate Hindu votes.

rediff.com spoke to the representatives of the two communities for a clearer picture.
